The Fremantle Traffic Bridge, a heritage listed structure, spans the Swan River, connecting Fremantle and North Fremantle. The bridge can be reached from below via Beach St. in Fremantle where an uncover wooden walkway extends beneath it. This 80 years old bridge is slated for replacement, with the announcement of this redevelopment made in 2019.

This introductory course covers relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, preparation of statements of significance, works planning and estimating, and specific practices for buildings and movable heritage, machinery.

The course will be delivered by University of Canberra and Engineering Heritage Western Australia experts.

  • Preparatory step towards full professional recognition.
  • Self-paced online learning through November – January.
  • Online workshop on 17 January 2024.
  • Optional assessed written report due 24 January 2024.
  • On site intensive course 15-16 February 2024 at Fremantle Army Museum 6 Burt Street, Fremantle.
