Knowledge Home
Western Australia's engineering knowledge is world class and arguably is currently world leading in the areas of heavy haulage railways and offshore LNG development. Historically the Coolgardie Goldfields Water Supply was also world leading when completed in 1903. Prior to 1829, Western Australia's aboriginal people developed technology as described in Pre 1826: Aboriginal Technology. Since 1829, engineering technology and knowledge has been changing at an ever increasing rate. A timeline for some of the technology changes that have impacted on Western Australia's development are listed in the WA Engineering Technology Timeline.
Engineering knowledge is developed by individuals or teams who publish their knowledge in papers, articles and addresses. Lists of papers, articles and addresses which describe Western Australian engineering knowledge are as follows.

Bibliography
As the website has developed, an extensive number of publications have been identified. One of the single largest sources was the library of Dr Richard Hartley. Items donated by Mrs Pat Hartley to Engineers Australia plus other donated items are available for reference in the Boardroom at the WA Division office at 712 Murray Street, West Perth. Where possible, for material which is out of copyright or for which approval has been granted, the Bibliography includes a link to a digital version which is available for download.
