BIRCH, Frederick Henry, (1858-1898)

After joining M. Fraser (q.v.) in 1875 as a Draughtsman in the office of the Commissioner of Works and Railways, which later became the Public Works Department, Birch worked under J.H. Thomas, C.T. Mason and G.T. Poole (q.v.), and resigned from this department in 1896.

Birch passed away in Mount Street, Perth, in March 1898, aged 39.
