Born April 21, 1888 at Troms Norway, the son of Ole Martinus Jacobsen, Kristian Jakobsen Blix was a student at Trondhjems Technical College, graduating in 1911 in engineering. From 1912 he was assistant to engineer G. Sætersmoens of the Hydrotechnical Bureau in Kristiania. Later he worked at Grøndahl & Kjørholt water construction office in Trondhjem.

Blix joined the WA Government Railways on July 2, 1928 as a draftsman. He was promoted to Engineering Assistant in 1929 and to Assistant Engineer in 1934. Blix acted as relieving District Engineer at Narrogin in the years 1936 to 1937 and at Northam in 1939.

Blix died August 5, 1949, in Perth.
