BEESON, Sydney Arthur, MIEAust (1881–1974)

Born Kensington, London on August 12, 1881 he was the son of William Beeson and Annie Beeson nee Lovell. On August 7, 1908 he married Kathleen Elizabeth Griffin at St Patricks Church, Fremantle. His wife Kathleen died at Fremantle October 6, 1912. In 1915 he married his second wife, Catherine Maude Mary Brindal.

Elected an associate member of the Western Australian Institution of Engineers in 1913 and a foundation associate member of the Institution of Engineers Australia in 1919. During World War I he was a member of the State Munitions Committee.

Beeson was a co-owner and Manager of the Atlas Engineering Company in Fremantle between 1912 and 1918. He managed Hoskin's Foundry in Perth in the mid 1920’s. He then worked for McLean Brothers and Rigg between 1928 and 1947.

He died at Glendalough, Perth on May 18, 1974.
